How do we know dinosaurs were real?
Tiny answers for ages 4–9, then goes 1 step deeper each time a child asks why.

Tiny says
Deep in the rocks, people find giant bones and teeth that have turned to stone. They find dinosaur footprints too, and even dinosaur poo! These stone clues are called fossils. Put them all together, and they show that dinosaurs really lived.

Why are footprints such good clues?
A bone shows what a dinosaur's body was like. A footprint shows what it was doing! A trail of prints shows whether it walked on two legs or four. And lots of trails side by side may mean dinosaurs were walking together in a group.
