Where does the moon go in the day?
Roo answers for ages 4–11, then goes 1 step deeper each time a child asks why.

Roo says
The sun is so bright that it makes the whole sky glow. The moon is much dimmer, so in the daytime it's hard to spot. But on lots of days, the moon is still up there. Look carefully and you might find it!

Why can't I find it every day?
The moon is always travelling around the Earth, and one trip takes about a month. That makes it rise a little later each day. So some days it's up with the sun, and some days it's up while you sleep.
