Why do some animals come out at night?
Fuzz answers for ages 4–9, then goes 1 step deeper each time a child asks why.

Fuzz says
When you're snuggling into bed, some animals are just waking up. Owls fly out of the trees, and foxes trot across the grass. They're called nocturnal animals. Nights are cooler than days, and the dark is a good time for them to find their dinner.

How do they find their way in the dark?
Many night animals have big eyes with wide-open pupils that catch every bit of light. Owls have amazing hearing, too. And bats call out high squeaks, then listen for the echoes bouncing back off their dinner. So even on the darkest night, they can find what they need.
