Lil' Phil is 5 days old.
Here’s everything that has arrived since it began, newest first. Nearly all of it is free for your child.

Week 1 29 Oct–1 Nov
The Playroom, our first toys for toddlers
A 3D toy room for two to five year olds. Drop shapes into the Shape House, press Tummy Buttons for colours, counting and a hug, and play back Little Echo’s tunes. We’re playing it now.
Friends who listen back, inside your rules
With a paid Philomathia plan, children four and up can talk out loud with their friends, shaped by the rules you write. Tap to ask stays free.
Read to Phil
Your child reads one of their own printed books out loud, and Phil listens. A quick look at each page, then the tablet lies down and Phil follows by ear, helping with a stuck word.
Books that listen as your child reads
Choose Read it out loud and every word lights up as it's said. Seven books read along so far, and the rest of the shelf is next.
Can you find the snail?
When the reading goes quiet, Phil asks your child to find something in the picture. Saying its name lights it up, and the book keeps count.
Unsealed
Explore an Egyptian temple, solve four puzzle rooms and carry four seals to the great door. Our second 3D game, on Philomathia for bigger kids. It doesn't save progress yet, so play it in one sitting.
Busy Hands
Pour slime over a brass ball, slice a wobbly jelly, pop a board and wash a fossil out of the mud. A shelf of satisfying toys on Philomathia.
Four learning games, voiced and in testing
Count the Critters, Trace It, Sound It Out and Number Bonds Bakery are built, with Roo's voice on every line. We're playing them now, before they join Lil' Phil.
7 more from Week 1
Storytime looks like a real bookshelf
Books open with their cover swinging wide, wear bookshop stickers, and set their words in a printed book face. At bedtime a filter finds the wind-down stories, and search finds a book by what happens in it.
Little Cinema
Add a whole YouTube collection or only the videos you pick, and set how long it stays open each day.
Beeline joins the games
Fly a swarm of bees through the bigger number and bring it home. Our first 3D game.
Try it before you sign up
About two in five things play straight away on any tablet, with no account. A free account opens the rest.
A home for their age, in one tap
Fill your child's home from a ready-made pack for their age, then change anything you like.
Ready for a trip
Save your child's home on the tablet before you travel, so their stories and games play without the internet. On Android tablets now; iPhone and iPad come later.
Lil' Phil begins
A home screen for kids that you fill from your phone: picture books, friends who answer why, puzzle games and calm breaths, with a grown-up PIN and time for each kind of play.
- Ready now on the shelf for everyone
- Being tested built, and we’re playing it before it joins
